3 yr old tube fed

hi Dr
Hope you are well.

I just have a question for you with regards to when to check for growth hormone issues / growth issues and how to do it?

I took Tay to the paed last Friday and in the past 3 months, he has literally grown 0.8cm and 100-200gm, now sitting at 90.2cm and 13.2kg at 38 1/2 months of age.

He is eating LIKE A LITTLE PIGLET which is great and l give him a feed of pediasure through his peg every night. I literally only use the peg for fluids for the past 3 months.

My question is this - when it is " not enough"  growth in terms of growth that l should be concerned?

The paed is happy and says he has never seen Tay happier, he was smiling and playing and giggling while we were there but how do l know when he is not growing " enough"  and how much is " enough"

Hope you have a lovely Festive Season and thanks for all your advice during the year.

Thank you

Thank you and my best wishes to you and your family as well. It really looks as if Tay has turned the corner after the battle he has had up to now. His weight is excellent and is on the 25th percentile line. This is very acceptable, even more so in view of his problems. His height is on the 10th percentile line [lowest 10%] but I expect this to improve greatly over the next year. He is eating well now and is playing and exercising which is essential for growth.Let us see how he progresses now that he is eating so well.Growth hormone would only be considered later on if there are still concerns about his growth when he is pre-pubertal and when he is in puberty.Your paediatrician will continue to monitor his progress.
