Biting is a very common problem in this age group. It can lead to many problems if your child attends a school and bites other children there. Unfortunately your son is biting at school and this is not as easy to deal with as it is when he is at home. If he bites anyone immediately say in a a clear firm voice 'Stop biting!' If he does not listen he must be taken to his room immediately and the door must be closed. He must stay in his room until he is quiet and is ready to say that he is sorry. If he refuses to say 'Sorry' then he must remain in his room until he is ready to do so. Do this each and every time that he bites and he will soon learn that he must stop this bad habit. Do not plead with him to stop biting. Always be firm and he must know that you mean what you say.The problem remains about his biting when he is at school, but if you can get things right with his biting at home he will learn that this behaviour is not acceptable anywhere.
