Q.

3 week old baby

Hi doctor,

My baby is almost 3 weeks old. He has started vomitting. Not after every feed, but at least twice a day. It doensnt seem to bother him to much, but it is enough to have to change him and his bedding every time. He is on Nan Pelargon and seem happy with it. He weighs 3.4kg (birth weight 2.9kg). He feeds every 4 hours and takes anything from 50ml to 100ml. I have noticed it more with the morning and afternoon feed. I dont really want to change his formula. Should I thicken his feeds or just leave it. My first son had silent reflux, as the simptoms are very differenct i dont know if this is reflux.

The most likely cause of your baby's vomiting is reflux.Try him on an anti-reflux formula such as Novalac AR.If this does not help it will be best to ask your paediatrician to see your baby son.
