3 months sleeps a lot.

hi Doc

my 3 months old daughter sleeps a lot (up to 5 hrs at a time, ever since birth) and when she wakes up,she is hungry and when you give her bottle she will drink eagerly but after some time, she stops having only drank 50ml or 75ml and dozes off.

I am worried that she is not getting enough food. she seems lazy to suck- I have tried using all sorts of teats but still no improvemnet. what can I do?she is on NAN. will changing formula help? which one?

when she is awake, she is happy and alert and develpomentally she is on track but I feel that she should be drinking more. at her 10 weeks vacinations, she weighed 5,2kg. her birth weight was 2.88kg.

also, is it ok to wake her every 3 hours for feeds?-my mom in law says I shouldnt. what is your view?

The important thing is that your baby's weight is on the average for her age. She must be getting enough in the way of her formula otherwise she would not gain weight normally like this. There is no reason to wake her for a feed as she will be too sleepy to suck on her bottle in any case.
