Q.

3 Month old

Hi doctor, my baby is 3 months old. He is on Novalac AR, and also been on 5mg Nexium for 2 weeks now. I give him 2ml Gaviscon twice a day and when I do, he naps well and sleeps well. Is it ok to give it to him? He is also a bit constepated and this seems to cause him pain sometimes, is 2.5ml duphalac twice a day ok?

You baby is constipated because of the thickened AR formula he is on as well as the Gaviscon. Nexium is an excellent medicine which lowers your baby's stomach acid. He does not need the Gaviscon in addition to this treatment. I would prefer that he did not need to use the Duphalac if possible,so try him off the Gaviscon first.
