Q.

2yr old not gaining weight

My daughter is 2yrs, weighs 9.5kg. I''ve been to a pedetrician whenn she was about 18mnts bacause she wasnt gaining enought weight. All sorts of tests were made but all was in order. There was a point where she was treated for TB (at 1yr), and the doctor figured that after treatment she would gain weight but nothing happened. She eats four times to five times in a day. I''m really worried about her weight. Please advice.

Paediatrician

The average weight for a 2 year old little girl is 11.5kg so you can see that your daughter is definitely underweight. Her weight is on the lowest 10% line of the children's growth chart. There is the question about her having TB at 1 year and she needs to be checked to find out if she has recovered fully. It would be best for your daughter to be seen by a paediatrician. If you would prefer you can take her to the paediatric outpatients department at your nearest state hospital.
