Hi Dr
Thanks for the answer, i will make an app for the paed to check him out again - but feel like an idiot going because he IS eating!

You didnt mention whether the 200-300ml a day is okay for him to drink? He has about 4 wet nappies a day.

Also, how long will it take for his gastrostomy hole to heal? It wast stitched and it still leaks fluid (eg jelly) through it at times.

Your son is eating but is losing weight and his weight and height are well below average. Does he have a malabsorption problem or other reason for losing weight while appearing to eat reasonably well? Is his diet adequate? These questions need to be answered by the experts. His fluid intake seems to be very low indeed. He should be taking about 1050ml of fluid per day [1000ml+ 50ml for every kg over 10Kg=1050ml].I am not certain about the gastrostomy opening, but would think that it should have healed by now. This will also need to be looked at preferably by the surgeon who did the op.
