20 month old grinding his teeth

I am a mum of a 20 month old boy who has for the past weeks started grinding his teeth. I first thought it was worms and gave him Vermox for three days. It was quite difficult to give him the meds, but both I and his nanny made sure he gets most of the 5mls down as per pharmacist. However it has been 6 days and he is still doing the same. I am also giving him creche guard. He has also begun to throw up food i am not certain why?

Teeth grinding which is also called bruxism is quite a common habit in young children. It usually starts when young children get their molar teeth. The actual reason why they grind their teeth is not known. It is a difficult habit to stop and in many cases may persist until the permanent teeth appear at about 7 years. If your son'shis teeth grinding is very disturbing you can try giving him an old fashioned, safe antihistamine called Aterax Syrup. He will need a dose of 2.5ml at night.
