Q.

2 year old teeth grinding

Dear Doc

I have a very healthy and happy 2 year old girl. There is no stress in our house and we are a happy family. This little one started to loudly grind her teeth during the day. Most of her teeth have come out, maybe a few at the back still coming through.

What should I do? Thanks Doc

This is a very common problem especially in children of this age and even more so when the molar teeth start to appear. It is a very difficult habit to break. It usually is not a sign of any stress and just starts quite suddenly in most children. The habit usually stops by itself, but may carry on for years. The good news is that teeth grinding always stops in children once they start to get their permanent teeth.
