2 Year old girl very sensitive to noise

Hi Doc

I am concerned about my 2 year old girl, she is very sensitive to certain noises like when I use vacuum cleaner or play music out loud she blocks her ears by her hands. She just started creche this year and the teachers have also noticed it as well and she does not want to participate in music classes. I have an appointment with an ENT only on the 21st Feb to assess her recurring tonsilitis so I want to address this issue with him then, but in the meantime, is the something i should or should not be doing to make things better for her. Is this a serious condition.?
