Q.

2 year old driving me mad

i have a two year old little girl that is making me crazy. she used to fall asleep on the couch each night after her bath at six and asleep by 7. lately she refuses to sleep. she walks around in the house moaning. she wants me to carry her the whole time and throws a tantrum if she doesn't get picked up. she hits me if i try to put her in bed. i was thinking of putting her down on the bed(we sleep in the same bed, single mom) and telling her to go to sleep, then close the door otherwise she runs after me, and let her scream til she falls asleep. is that a good idea or do you have any other suggestions. please help. thank you

Something is obviously worrying your little girl as her behaviour has changed so much. She seems to be very insecure. Can you think of a reason why she should be feeling this way?The answer is not to allow her into your bed as it will be very difficult to get her to stop sleeping with you. You need to make her feel secure in her own bed. Make a fuss about her lovely bed and what a big girl she is to be sleeping in her bed. Read to her until she falls asleep and leave a small nightlight on in her room.
