Q.

18 month vaccinations

Dear Doc

My daughter had the infanrix hexa vaccine at 8, 12 and 16 weeks. When I took her for her 15 month vaccinations (Prevenar and MMR), the clinic sister wrote down the names Pentaxim and Hep A on her vaccination card as the vaccines that are due at 18 months.

Why would the clinic sister want to administer Pentaxim at 18 months, when infanrix hexa was used 3 times before? Could it be an oversight on the part of the clinic sister?

Thank you.

This is an important question. The clinic sister is correct. Your baby is due for the Pentaxim again at 18 months as well as the hepatitis A immununization.
