18 month old not gaining weight

I' m concerned about my 19 month old girl not gaining enough weight. For the past 4 months her weight is stuck on 8.5kg. At birth she weighed in at 2.5kg and dropped down to 2.2kg during the first week. Since then it has always been a struggle to get her weight up. The first 4 months when I was still breastfeeding her weight was below 5kg and at 6 months she finally weighed 6kg. When she was 1 year old she weighed 8kg and since 15 months her weight did not go beyond 8.5kg. She' s eating 6 meals a day (every 2-3hrs) but some mealtimes are a struggle to get her to eat. Sometimes she seems too tired to eat or more interested in things around her. Being underweight myself I don' t know if I should be concerned. She is otherwise very healthy and active.

You say that your baby is happy and healthy which is a good thing, but I am concerned about her weight which is below the lowest line of the infant growth chart. Her weight is lower than the lowest 3% of children of her age.You mention that she seems too tired to eat at times. She may be anaemic or may have some other problem which may need treatment. Please ask your paediatrician to see your little girl.
