17month 3rd child not talking

My 17th mnth old is the 3rd child and not yet saying one word- should I be concerned?

It is unusual that your child is not saying even one word at 17 months. Most children even those who have a delay in their speech will be using at least one word by now. The question is whether he/she can hear normally and it would be a good idea to have your child's hearing tested by an audiologist. If it is normal then you just need to have patience and to see how things develop. If he/she is still not saying anything by the age of 2 and a half years then you should consult a speech therapist.
