Dear Doc

My son just had his clinic check up on the 29th, he weighs 7.7 kg and measures in at 65 cm. He has doubled his birth weight and the sister advised us to start with rice cereal as he started waking up every 3 hours again for a feed during the night. The only thing is is that he has two teaspoons of cereal for breakfast and for supper but it has made no difference at all, he still wakes every 3 hours for a 150 ml bottle. I have tried soothing him and patting him back to sleep but he might sleep restlessly for half an hour or so then I have to give him the bottle and its back to sleep until 3 hours later. I have made peace with the tiredness, but I was wondering if I should be doing something else, he is hungry all the time. Other than that he is thriving and really happy. Please advise

Your baby is thriving but seems to be hungry.I presume that you are still breastfeeding him.You will need to increase his solids or give him a formula feed in addition.
