14 Month old boy

Morning dr my son is on Reuteri drops everyday. He recently was hospitalised for grommets and two days after that he got the Rota virus was hospitalised again for 4 days. He weighs 8.7 kg is attending daycare and is often sick. I am worried because of weight but my son has 3 meals a day and 6 x 120 mls of Isomil 2 a day. He is active and almost walk. Should i be worried and is the Reuteri drops ok for every day?

The average weight for a baby boy of 14 months is 10kg. Your son's weight is well below this average and his weight is on the lowest 10% line of the infant growth chart. He is getting ill often and is showing the problems of attending a creche wth these frequent illnesses. He is not being protected enough by the Reuteri drops. Try Creche Guard or Scotts Emulsion to boost his immunity.I would advise you to remove your son from the creche and to have him cared for at home. He should be followed up by his paediatrician to find out why his weight is so low.
