Q.

13 week old refusing breast

Dear Doc

My daughter had her second round of vaccinations a week ago at 12 weeks. Since then, she has not fed that well. I am breastfeeding exclusively.

When I put her to my breast, she " fights it"  and crys. She only drinks 3 or 4 minutes every 4 hours. She has also been quite sleepy the past 2 days.

Could she be a bit aggitated from her vaccines a week ago that is making her feel unwell? Will she " drink if she is hungry"  - so I should not worry too much?

Many thanks for your advice!

Babies may be a bit 'out of sorts' for a day or two after the immunisations, but not for a full week. Something else must be troubling your baby. She seems to be quite sleepy, you say, which is a bit of a worry.I would be happier about your baby if you asked your paediatrician to see her especially about her drowsiness.
