Q.

13 months'' old weight

Hi Doc

I posted a while ago on my baby''s weight. She weighed 13kgs at 13 months and her height is now 76cm. Is this fine? Yes, her weight is slightly above average. She was born at 4.05kgs.

She is very healthy, very active, was breastfed for 12 months. She did take formula (NAN HA) when I was at work but breastfed exclusively when we were together. She has been on Nido for a month now and she loves it!

Oh, and she has been fully walking for the last 2 to 3 weeks now.

I just need to know if her weight of 13kgs is fine in relation to her height of 76cm at 13 months?

If your baby's weight is indeed 13kg at 13 months then her weight is far above the average weight of 9.3kg for a baby girl of this age. Your baby's weight is on the 99th% line of the growth chart which is the top 1% for babies of her age.Her height of 76cm is just on the average so her weight is definitely out of proportion to her height. She seems to be doing well in all respects otherwise and will probably slim down a bit now that she is walking. It would be a good idea to write to our Dietdoc on Health24 just to get her opinion.
