Q.

12 month, blocked nose at night

Hi Doc
My baby is 12 months old. He has had a blocked nose at night and in the morning when he wakes. It started 2 days ago. He gets alecet 2,5 ml every evening (for the past few months already) and I also give sterimar once a day. For the blocked nose, how often can I give the Sterimar and can I give him Acc 200 in the morning? Also what is Demazin for and is it a good cold medicine to give to babies. My baby did get a temp of 37.8C last night and the night before and I gave him 5ml Ponstel which helped. During the day he was fine (just uncomfortable at night).

Your baby has a cold. You need to clear his nose by using the Sterimar at least twice daily. Sterimar is pure sea water and will cause no harm to his nose. You can give him the Ponstel for fever. It is not necessary to give him the Demazin which is used for children with blocked noses, but the Sterimar will be sufficient.
