Q.

11 month old with ridges on skull

Dear Doc

I noticed that my 11 month old son has 2 ridges on his skull - the one goes from his fontanel on the top of his head (it is still slightly open) to his forehead, and the other one is kindof diagonal at the back of his skull. My other kids don''t have that. Is this normal??

This is normal and these are the places where the various parts of his skull bones have joined. The lines you are able to feel are along the so-called sagital and coronal sutures of his skull.
