10 yr son - body jerks, eyes roll

Please could you give me some guidance on my 10 year old son.

He is on an asthma pump daily (a preventer) as well as a nasal spray. He does suffer with allergies (although haven''t had these tested for 2 years).

My son over the past month has developed this ''grunt'', together with body jerking/twitching, and his eyes roll.

He says he feels ''funny'' when it happens, it does bother him, and when I asked him if he is able to stop it he says no. He also mentioned that his chest hurts when his body jerks.

The twitching doesn''t happen whilst he is asleep.

Please could you tell me what I should do, have the allergies tested (could this be causing it), or do I take him to a neurologist?

Really desperate.

Paediatrician

You have given clear description of your son's new behaviour. It is obvious why you are concerned about him. The question here is whether he has developed epilepsy or if there is some other reason for his jerking and eye rolling. It would be best to take him to see a paediatric neurologist.
