Q.

10 week old baby

Hi Doctor, my baby is 10 weeks old. He used to be on Nan Pelargon but had alot of flatulance and vomitting moved to Isomil. He still had some flatulance but the vomitting continued after every bottle. He is now on Novalac AR, the vomitting is alot better, but the flatulance and cramps seem worse. Should he still get used to the formula or could it be something else?

It is highly possible that your baby has lactose intolerance as well as a reflux problem. As you have noted his reflux is better on the anti-reflux formula, but his lactose intolerance symptoms continue. He should go back onto the Isomil formula, but he will need to have treatment for reflux at the same time. It will be necessary for him to be seen by his paediatrician for this.
