Q.

1 yo coughing for 3 weeks now

Dear Paed

My 1 yo son has been coughing for almost 3 weeks now. No fever, just chesty-sounding cough. The doc saw him on Friday, lungs ok, but ears a bit red and fluidy, prescribed Celestamine 2.5 ml 4 times per day, plus Covomycin-D 2 drops per nostril 3 times daily. He is not improving at all. He is still teething with his 4 molars (none out yet just swollen gums). Any suggestions?

This could be due to an early asthma problem. Please ask your doctor to have another look at your son.
