Q.

1 YEAR OLD

Good day Doctor, my son is almost one year old. He has almost always suffered from excess mucous, bronciolitis, and excess gas that is very painfull. I am now wondering if it is not the fruit juice causing all this. I do dilute it, maybe not enough. Could this be the problem?? He doesnt really like milk so i dont know what else to give him besides water. Please advice.

Your baby son's excessive windiness may be due to fruit juice and to a form of fructose intolerance. His excess mucus and brochiolitis are probably not related to the fruit juice. Your son should still be on some form of milk at this stage even if just to supply him with adequate amounts of calcium. Have you tried a milk with a good taste such as Parmalat First Growth milk?
