1 year and 4 month old refuses to drink milk

Dear Doc

My 1 year and 4 month old baby girl used to drink formula (stopped breastfeeding at 6 months) with no problem. When se started with eczema we thought to give normal cow milk a try and thought that the formula might have something to do with her allergy. She had one or two sips of the cow milk and now she doesn''t want to drink cow milk OR formula, she totally refuses the bottles. Is she too young to be totally without milk? She eats very healthy - we ensure that she eats very balanced.

Please help

It is very likely that your baby girl is allergic to cow's milk. Try her on a soya formula such as Isomil3 and see if she takes this formula. Otherwise she should be seen by a paediatric allergist and have the necessary allergy tests.

Sometimes you can get them to drink nesquick!
I think they should get 400ml of milk per day... some nesquick, cheese, yogurt and milk over her cereal/porridge may help!
My LG used to drink only 200ml milk a day for almost a year.... only at night! But she starts to enjoy her milk now. (just turned 2)
