Inflammation of muscle attachments along the collar bone
Many neck and chest muscles are attached via tendons to the collar bone. Bowlers and fielders, through overuse of these muscles often get inflamed tendons.
- Pain and stiffness around the collar bone
- Pain in the front of the neck, radiating form the collar bone
What can be done?
- If the injury is fresh, apply ice and rest, but after a few days apply heat
- See a specialist
- Sports massage
- Ultrasound therapy
- Follow a rehab programme prescribed by a doctor
