How Kim Kardashian covers up her psoriasis

accreditation

Kim Kardashian feared her entire career could be over after discovering that she suffers from the chronic skin disease psoriasis.

The reality star has revealed how she hides the red spots on her body.

Kim uses a bronzing make-up spray to keep the psoriasis patches from public view.

"I’m using Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs spray and it is my lifesaver at the moment," she wrote on her website.

"I love this stuff! It really covers up my psoriasis so well!"

After seeing her dermatologist, Kim researched the condition on the internet and realised that her entire body could end up covered in the agonizing patches. She went into a blind panic.

Kim was scared about walking down the aisle with red, scaly legs, but fortunately she found out that there are a number of treatments available – including pills, injections and creams – that could help control the condition.

Kim is not alone, as this condition affects between 1 and 3 percent of people.

Erratic and irritating, psoriasis is one of the most inexplicable and relentless of skin disorders. Skin cells multiply up to 10 times faster than normal. As the skin produces these huge numbers of cells, the underlying cells reach the skin's surface and die, causing raised, red plaques covered with white scales.

Psoriasis occurs on the knees, elbows, and scalp, but can also affect the torso, palms, and soles of the feet. The symptoms of psoriasis vary, depending on the type.

Sufferers know that this awkward and at times disfiguring skin disease can be frustrating to treat. There is no known cure for psoriasis as this condition comes and goes in cycles of remissions and flare-ups.
