6 steps to younger-looking skin

Forget wishing for younger-looking skin... These rules are guaranteed to deliver brighter skin and fewer lines.

1. Get science on your side

If you want to see an improvement in fine lines and wrinkles, radiance and smoothness, take heart – studies show that a certain combination of skin care ingredients can re-programme your skin cells to start behaving like younger ones.

Dr. Sven Fey, head of NIVEA Face Care Product Development, explains, “The biggest anti-wrinkle study conducted at the Beiersdorf Test Centre found the most effective cell-activating system yet, which provides visible skin rejuvenation. We have now developed the NIVEA CELLular Anti-Age range that stimulates cell activity and skin’s cell turnover rate, inducing cells to act like younger ones.”

2. Use Hyaluronic Acid

If Hyaluronic Acid is not already a staple in your face care line-up, it should be – especially after sun exposure, which can leave your skin parched. Hyaluronic Acid is the body’s own hydrating molecule, capable of absorbing water, but like collagen (the skin’s wrinkle-busting protein) it depletes naturally as we age.

This is why the NIVEA CELLular Anti-Age range includes Hyaluronic Acid as one of its three main active ingredients, along with Magnolia Extract and Creatine. “The range contains a unique and powerful cocktail of NIVEA’s best anti-ageing ingredients – it’s an outstanding combination for an anti-age line,” says Dr. Fey.

3. Wear sunscreen - and not just to the beach

Rain or shine, protecting your skin from harmful UV rays every day is the single most important thing you can do to prevent sun damage and skin cancer. Try NIVEA CELLular Anti-Age Day Cream with SPF 15 to protect your skin from photo-induced premature ageing, age spots and pigmentation. It also improves skin firmness and renewal.

4. Sleep well

The expression "beauty sleep" actually has some science behind it. Not only does your skin require downtime to repair itself, but sagging skin and puffiness around the eyes make wrinkles look worse. Make the most of your skin’s downtime by applying a rich night cream specially formulated to be used when the skin is most receptive. With regular use, the caring formula of NIVEA CELLular Anti-Age Night Cream reduces wrinkles, increases firmness and improves skin renewal.

5. Eat right

Your skin receives nutrients from the food you eat. The more balanced your diet, the younger you'll look. To keep skin happy, eat more oily fish, dark green vegetables, and nuts like almonds and walnuts.

Lay off the refined sugar and alcohol – both cause ageing and inflammatory reactions in the skin – and stay hydrated with water and herbal teas. A healthy lifestyle, together with a nutrient-rich face care range, means you can rejuvenate your skin’s youthful look.

6. Find a face cream designed for you

More than 8 500 women were actively involved in the formula creation of the NIVEA CELLular Anti-Age range to ensure that the finished product responded to the expectations women have of high quality anti-ageing face care.

The end result is a highly effective formula that works in harmony with your skin’s own processes to deliver multiple benefits, increase firmness and leave your skin looking more supple and fresh.
