Q.

Is doctor's suggestion a good or bad one?

For the past 3 months i have been struggling with sinus infections. My nose permanently run, ears are blocked and i have a flemmy cough. I have had 3 courses of antibiotics, cortizone tabs and nasal sprays. Nothing seems to clear it. I went to an ENT today. We had x-rays done, which proved to be clear. Doctor then suggested to pierce/pop my eardrum. I did not agree to this as i thought a punctures/pop eardrum is nothing but trouble. Is this doctor's suggestion a good or bad one? Am i right in not allowing this procedure?

I cannot say for sure as I haven't seen the ear. But it might be a good call if there is fluid trapped behind the eardrum.
