The calcium-rich bones in pilchards can give your bones a boost. Unfortunately, the strong odour of the fish could put you off – especially if it clings to your hands.

Take action:
Here’s how to get rid of the smell: rub fresh or bottled lemon juice or vinegar into your hands and rinse with warm water and soap; rub some toothpaste into your hands and rinse with warm water and soap; or wash your hands with lemon-scented soap.
