Hi!

It would be a good idea to visit an Audiologist for a full hearing assessment. A brief medical history may also be noted in the consult. To obtain a better understanding of the possible type and severity of tinnitus present, the Audiologist may also conduct tinnitus matching. Based on the Audiologist's findings appropriate solutions may be presented. Until a visit to an Audiologist is considered you may utilize some basic coping strategies to allow yourself to manage with the existing tinnitus. Try listening to the radio or reading a book before going to sleep. In the morning listen to the radio or read the paper. Try to avoid very quiet environments. If you have to work in a very quiet environment, see if it is at all possible to listen to a portable radio at a soft/comfortable volume. Also try to stay away from stimulants {eg: caffeine etc} and attempt to reduce your stress levels, if applicable, as stress often exacerbates tinnitus.

Kind regards...
