hi I have tinnitus and the cause as yet has not been established what concerns me is that i have what i call mini blackouts. it is like when you drive long distance and you cannot keep your eyes open and you have to sleep the body just shuts down now this happens to me but everything seems like it in slow motion and no matter how i try to fight it i cannot. i can hear what is being said but i cannot type or write it there seems to be a delayed action from command to putting it down. on paper. i have to then lie down and its like i just die i am gone and then i will wake up usually with a startle and have to refocus myself . i have also found my self head on computer keyboard . on occasion when i fight it my head just flops forward and i almost snap my neck when i wake with these frights. It was happening maby once or twice an evening but now its almost every hour and its affecting my ability to work properly. oh once i wake up i am normally fine for the rest of the evening. i normally only lie down for 20 min but now i am needing to lie longer and longer . What could this be
I am going for a cat scan . do you think this could be a tumor . Oh i also get very painful headaches especially when i wake up , I take painkillers for them and i cannot be in bright light then my head wants to explode. my eyesight has deteriorated radically in the last 4 months and have had to get new glasses much much stronger than before.

Dear Zelda

I am delighted to hear that you are going for a scan, it is important that you see a Neurologist and get to the root of the problem as soon as possible. I can not tell you what the problem is but i can advise you have it looked into as soon as possible. If all the medical problems are sorted, then you can also have a hearing test done, to see if the tinnitus is related to your hearing and can get some possibilities of dealing with it. Your main focus is to have the black outs looked into though

Please let me know if you need any further information
