Substance leaking

I have taken my son to the doctor in 2008 when I was told that the substance coming from his ears is caused by his tonsils they are blocking the airway to his ear so the doctor operated and took out the tonsils but the problem is still there and he said it''s becuase he had wholes on his eardrums gave us medication but still the ears are not getiing better and they smell so bad I don''t know what to do anymore, it''s embarrasing when his ear smells so bad. Please please please help.

Dear Zama

You need to take him back to the doctor or to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist as soon as possible, it sounds like the infection has not cleared up yet. It will also be advisable to have his hearing tested by an AUdiologist once all the medical possibilities have been ruled out.

Please feel free to let me know if you need any further information or a referral (izabellepieterse@gmail.com)

My 5 year old son had grommits put in in July. In the past 2 weeks his right ear has begun to leak. First at night but now through the day. The fluid seems clear but it tends to mix with the wax and hardens around the ear. What is the cause and should I take him to the ENT?
