Dear Johan

What you are describing is what we call Tinnitus. There are a number of causes as well as things that can make it worse. To list a few: Hearing loss, tabacco, alcohol, vitamine deficiencies, noise exposure, certain medication, stress, blood pressure etc.

What is important though is to get to the root of the problem. I would recommend that you start with a good general check-up. A hearing evaluation by an Audiologist would also be advisable. Please feel free to let me know if you need any further information or a referral to someone in your area (izabelle@widex.co.za).

Kind regards
