It sounds to me like you have been doing all the right things. I would have advised you to do exactly what you have done: See your GP, see an ENT, follow-up, have grommets, do allergy testing. I can understand your frustrations. It is however important to get to the root of the problem and it might be advisable to get a second opinion. Try to see someone that specifically specializes in allergies.
