Hi,

I am assuming you are hearing a sound in your left ear. This could be tinnitus. Tinnitus is generally a symptom of stress, anxiety, hearing loss, treatable illness, reaction to medications, or related to your physical well being. I would recommend consulting an ENT specialist as well as an Audiologist to examine the hearing system rather than a GP.
