hard wax in ear

The sister at the pharmacy checked my ears and she told me that the wax was hardened and gave me stuff to put in my ears overnight. I used it for 2 nights and it was better. She advised that it is not good for the ear when the ear is injected with water. Anycase now the problem is back.. there are now wax coming out of my ears for a while now.. I still have a whole lot left of the oil to put in my ear but how can I actually get the wax out.. is there way without having to go the dr? Many thanks

Dear Melanie

The best thing to do is to go to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist to have the wax removed. There are a number of ways to remove it but in many cases using water is not your safest option. I can not give you any recommendations without having examined your ears. Also remember that if you used the oil then that will soften the wax and it will come out of your ears, as you are seeing at the moment. If you are concerned, then rather see a professional.

Please let me know if you have any further questions
