Damage hear

Hi Doc,

My niece blew a hard kiss in my left ear yesterday, i am suffering from funny sounds as well as a blocked ear. It sounds like water in my ear. This is so annoying will my ear come right on its own or must I see a GP.

Thank you

Hi Sue!

The symptoms you describe would warrant a quick otoscopic examination. Hence, the GP would look into your ear in order to evaluate if there are any issues. These symptoms may be relieved in a short while, however, a quick examination would be advisable. Please do not hesitate to follow up with regard to progress and outcomes.

Kind regards...

Hi Sue! Thank you for following up. The use of ear drops such as Sofradex or Ciprobay ear drops, may only be prescribed upon examination of the outer ear canal. These ear drops work effectively but an examination by a medical professional is imperative in order to recommend their use, dosage and directions. Since your symptoms have persisted it is important that you visit your GP and also an Audiologist to assess your hearing status and any possible changes thereof. Please follow through with an appointment without delay.
