Ethical approval for bloodless surgery

The ethics committee of the South African Medical Association has granted approval for research into a revolutionary new form of completely bloodless surgery.

The surgery is conducted through a hole no bigger than a pin prick and the patient is left with the same mark on the skin as if they had an injection even though under the skin they have had a surgical procedure. According to a spokesperson for The Migraine Research Institute “There is no cut, no scar, no stitches, and no blood.”

Pioneered by Dr Elliot Shevel of The Headache Clinic this breakthrough technique is being used to neutraliSe the proteins in stubborn migraine trigger points with incredible success. “We have a progressive medical culture in South Africa and this approval opens the door for us to take this bloodless research to the international community.”

“We have constructed a special procedure room with a viewing window so that in certain instances where there is patient consent, we are able to allow researchers, specialists, and in some instances members of the press to watch this incredible procedure as it happens.” - (Migraine Research Institute and The Headache Clinic, November 2009)
