Headaches really do come in different shapes and sizes. The brain is the body’s control centre, and headaches are often an early warning system for any number of ailments.
Some headaches are self-inflicted – such as a pounding hangover brought on by too many alcoholic beverages the night before, or a dull ache caused by from sitting in direct sun without a protective hat or sunglasses. But some headaches arrive unannounced and, like migraines, can stay for days.
