Q.

Neg result but symptom

Hello doctor, I have been tested negative at 3 months with 4th generation assay. But now I have been noticing are red spots on my body, particularly on hands n feet. And a swollen lymph node in neck. 1. Is that ars ? Are you familiar with any particular disease. 2. I m confused about the window period, some say at 3 months is conclusive, while other at 6. Please advice . I'm going paranoid.

The window period for the 4th Generation HIV ELISA test is 4 - 6 weeks. If you are negative at 12 weeks then you are indeed negative. The symptoms that you have are not necessarily related to HIV. A negative test at 12 weeks is conclusive
