HIV/Aids

Q.

Is it possible for an influenza A rapid detection test to differentiate between influenza A and HIV?

I had unprotected sex with a stranger, and about 7 days later I started experiencing very extreme flu-like symptoms. I went to the doctor, was given a rapid influenza A detection test, and tested positive for influenza. However, this seems very coincidental and I am freaking out. Is it safe to say that the rapid detection test was correct and that I just got influenza, since I tested positive for influenza, or is it possible that the rapid detection test got confused by the effects of early HIV symptoms? My roommate also experienced the same symptoms at the exact same time I started to feel them, except he had everything but a high fever, so he is doing much better than me.
