Q.

HIV test after PEP

Thank you Doctors for this service. You are doing an amazing job providing this service. I did following tests after PEP: 1. One day after PEP - HIV antigen/antibody duo test - negative 2. Two weeks after PEP- HIV antigen/antibody duo test - negative 3. 16 days after PEP HIV RNA quantitative test - undetected How good are these outcomes? That is am I out of danger? Is HIV RNA test 16 days after PEP any good? My exposure was kissing a stripper, and I had my doubts about high viral load in saliva or blood in her mouth.

You are definitely negative. You were at no risk of HIV infection because HIV is not transmitted through kissing

Thank you for a quick reply. Just a follow up. Irrespective of kind of exposure, do test results look conclusive? Specially RNA test.
