Q.

P24

Dear HIV Specialist Doctor, I have heard many said that P24 that it will disappears once antibodies are formed. If antibodies never develop I mean persist "seronegative", will P24 still present in blood for 4th generation test to pick up HIV after 3 years?? Not in late AIDS Stage. If let say a person is "Seronegative" and is rare.

If a person is HIV positive the HIV 4th Generation ELISA test will detect HIV infection within 4 - 6 weeks of established infection. That is the simple answer I am going to give you. If you are HIV positive the latest tests that we use - that detect p24 and HIV antibodies will know within 4 - 6 weeks
