What should I look out for when buying shoes?

Comfort, the right size, and only then fashion considerations. Many women spend the last decade or two of their lives in agony with multiple foot problems, because of wearing ill-fitting, high-fashion shoes all their lives.

It is always a good idea to buy shoes late in the day when your feet may be slightly swollen – in this way, you will never have a situation where you cannot get into your new shoes the next morning.

The wrong shoes can cause blisters, calluses, corns and bunions.

If you are not sure which shoes are best for your feet, you can always take a few on 'appro', and take them along to your podiatrist to get a second opinion.
