Here's how to take care of your eyes: have your vision checked regularly – if you're short-sighted by more than -4.00 D (check your prescription), have a yearly retinal check done by your ophthalmologist; keep chronic diseases, including diabetes and hypertension, under control; wear sunglasses that protect your eyes from ultraviolet A and B rays; and eat foods rich in vitamin A, such as cooked carrots, tomatoes, green leafy vegetables, oranges, paw-paw and melon.
