Q.

Sports and Diabetes

My son is 2.5yrs old and I would like to enroll him to some sport for this year - little rugby - how save is this when he is a type 1 diabetic.

His sugar is very under control and we very rarely have to inject him (at this stage) we test his sugar once a day.

You will have to increase testing and also ensure that he has treatment available for management of hypoglycaemia (low blood glucose). Please discuss this with his doctor as he may recommend some changes to his treatment regimen.
