Q.

Pregnant, sugar in urine

I went for my check up yesterday and just before going I ate a some sugar sweets and cake. When the dr checked my urine he found sugar it was G+++ was does that mean, is that very high?? Have PCOS for 6 yrs now and I am allergic to Metformin. I always stick to a diabetic diet I don' t know what possessed my mind. Could I be getting gestational diabetes or could it have been the sweets in ate. Will be monitoring my sugar levels on a daily basis.

Yes it definitely means that you need to be investigated further and I would suggest that you must go for a glucose tolerance test - it is a bit different from the usual test if you are pregnant as there are different cut-off values to define diabetes.
