My friend was found lying on the floor, nobody knows how long she was there. She has Diabetes 1 and is on medication but her sugar was up and down all the time. The doctors say she has neuroglycopanic. What is this. She has been in a coma since Friday Midday. What are the chances of survival. Can she have brain damage?

I suspect she had a hypoglycaemic reaction, but didn't experience any symptoms and therefore she couldn't call for help or take something to increase her blood glucose and developed a coma. It can occur in diabetic patients whom have several hypoglycaemic episodes over a time period and this will need more frequent monitoring of blood glucose and early intervention if the glucose drops. I cannot really comment on her prognosis as lots of factors can influence it.
