Q.

Metforal prescribed for my 12 yr old daughter

My daughter is unable to swallow pills! Is Metforal or similar available in liquid form? Our GP prescribed it for her as she wakes up with headaches and does not have much energy at all. Her concentration is sometimes lacking although she does extremely well at school. Your comment/opinion will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Dear Bev Whelan
Metformin is not available in liquid form. Without knowing you daughter’s case, what I can say is that metformin won’t help with energy and headaches. Suggest seeing your doctor again for a reassessment.
